Well, this is one way to make watching the Oscars a little more interesting. There are actually online gambling websites set up that allow online betting for the Academy Awards tonight.
This is a great way to get people interested that have no major desires to watch the awards. It is like betting on the Super bowl when you don’t have a team in the game and you want to really care about the outcome. Now, instead of dances in the end zone that get you pumped up about your parlay bet, you can watch a victory speech when you start winning money.
I may or may not have made a few bets on Bovada today. It looks like a lot of the betting sites have different odds for all of the awards, but I liked Bovada’s the best. The only problem is, some of the winners are so likely to win an award that your payout would be next to nothing. Daniel Day Lewis winning the best actor award would only win $20 on a $1000 bet.
