One of my biggest complaints about Netflix (besides losing a Paramount deal) is that I share an account with other people in my apartment and Netflix doesn’t recognize that.
Our joint account has a very strange recommendations section. One of us watches a lot of kung fu movies, I watch classics and another will watch nothing but Adam Sandler types of comedies. How is Netflix supposed to figure out what we want to watch with that lineup?
Well, today they just announced that in August Netflix will have a new multiple user option for their accounts. Within each account, you can rate movies to keep your recommendation engine going strong. The Facebook features will also connect with your profile so you can keep track of what your friends recommend.
One of the strongest attributes of Netflix is their ability to fine tailor their recommendations to users. This is a great course of action that they are taking to keep current customers subscribed for the time being.
